Unexpected Trials

What a life!

Sorry I have not posted in a while. My life has taken a devastating turn since last year.

Here are all of the good things.

My family and I have moved into a smaller house in the middle of nowhere which is the best thing ever for me because there are acres and acres of woods for me to explore. We are getting a german shepherd puppy!!!!!! I can't stop talking about it, and I think my mom is going deaf because of it. I know they are a lot of work, but I have nothing better to do.☺I have done a ton of research, so much so, I think my brain will literally explode.

And now for the bad parts. :-(

I have had headaches since last year. They are constantly hurting and I haven't had a second of relief since the beginning of summer. It sucks really bad and I have a doctors appointment almost twice a week now. I can't concentrate or think straight. I haven't been able to read a book for a long time. And because of this, I haven't gone to school in a long time so now I am homeschooled. I hope I don't get weirder. :-) We think the headaches are either a spinal fluid leak or it is related to my back. I have a tethered cord again, and I've had it for the last several months with no symptoms, but just last week I began to have foot pain. It's really bad so I'm sure I will be having surgery again soon. :-(
But hey! I've done it five times before so I'll get through it!

Anyway, I'll be posting a lot more since I have more time on my hands.

The saying for the day is: Whatever life throws at you, just know you will get through it in time. So toughen up and take it like a man, you pansy!

I'm back!!

Hi again!

I am so sorry I have not posted in like, a billion years. I do have an excuse. It is is because my life has gotten very busy very fast. I will tell you some big changes that have happened. I am in the 5th grade. I get three times as much homework than I did in Elementary school and it is pretty challenging. But I am in the top math class.

One of the biggest changes is me and my family have moved into a new house! It is definitely an awesome house, but I will not get into any details. I am still doing cello and am now in book 2. I have also developed a liking for surviving outside like backpacking and camping. I will be talking about this a lot in my next blog. Just recently my parents set up an allowance for me and my siblings. I am super excited about this!

Since I have not blogged in a very long time, I am going to make this a weekly chore of mine so that I can remember.

My Saying For The Day Is: When your little brother is annoying you really bad when you are trying to write your blog, don't kill him. It is illegal.

I ran in my first ever race!

Last week I ran the CHAD Hero race!!! It's an event to help raise money for Dartmouth's children's hospital. It was super fun! I ran three miles, but it seemed much more than just three miles.

Every body had to dress up as a super hero for the race, and I was bat girl and my dad was Heman. You wouldn't believe how funny it was! On the way there, we got to ride to ride a bus and then when we got there, there was so many rides and bouncy houses that it made me dizzy. They had Batman's Batmobile, and I got to sit in it with my little brother. It felt like I was actually in the real batman movie!

After that, we went to the starting line. It was super crowded so I made sure that I stayed close to my family. First, we sang the national anthem. Then, the guy that was speaking into the microphone shouted 3,2,1 Go!!!!! And then the huge crowd started to run. I was so nervous because I wasn't sure how I would do, and I had never run that much since my last surgery.

When I saw the finish line, there were lots of people cheering us on so I ran really fast. Some guy at the finish line even called out my name to the crowd! I was really embarrassed, but I had a lot of fun.

Would I do the race again? YES!!!

The saying for the day is: If you get a chance to run a race for sick kids, do it! It will make them and you feel better.

Aliens!!!!!

Hello!

Okay, so, since I have not been posting blogs as much as I'd like to, I decided to set up a schedule to be writing. Every week just check in and there will most likely be a blog post. Anyway, the topic today is on meteors.

We had a bunch of meteors going across the sky and it went on for two days! The first night there was a lot but I wasn't there to see it. My dad was--dang it!!!! But then the second night our whole family went outside and laid on a blanket with our dog April. It got so cold that half of our family left, ha--wimps. Me, my sister Belle, and my awesome dad stayed outside.

My dad and Belle were freezing, but I was very warm because I was huddled up next to April, my dog. We saw 5 or 6 meteors until the biggest, baddest one of all. I call it Mr. Jupiter. Da, Da Da!!!!!!! Mr. Jupiter was so big that it left a trail behind him. I think Mr. Jupiter was actually a U.F.O! What if these weird bald guys came out of their super high tech vehicle thing? And, no, I'm not talking about my dad.

My saying for the day is if you ever see an alien, it might just be your dad.

The Best Dog Name Ever!

I got a dog!!!!!!

Our family finally got our own dog!!!

We got it from the pound, but surprisingly, she is very nice and calm and is very well trained. Her name is April. We were going to name her Death Star, but she was already named so we could not change it.

Me and my dad have a secret plan. We will slowly transition her name into Death Star. First, we will go from April to Apith, and then, we will go from Beth Gar and then Death Star!!!!

Sometimes,  when no one is out there with her,  she will howl as loud as she can and when she does, I think there is a giant wolf waiting for us to come outside so that it can eat us.

Another time she was able to get up into our play ground, but was too scared to get down so we had to push her down the big slide--and when we were trying to push her down, I was on the slide too trying to get her down with a dog treat, but then my sister hurried and pushed her down onto me and we both fell down the slide together!

My saying for the day is: If you hate your name, you can always change it to something better like Death Star.

Five Surgeries Won't Bring This 9 Year Old Down!

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!

Surgery was a punch to my face!!!!!

Why? Because I was in the hospital for four days but it felt like a million years. I had a lot of pain in my back, the bed was uncomfy (it probably didn't help that I threw up on it once or twice, I don't really remember), and the pills were too big to swallow. 

The nurses and doctors were very nice. One of them brought me a bunch of colored sand so I could make these cool animal prints. Some red sand spilled on me and it looked like I was bleeding! At least it was sparkly blood. 

The best part of the surgery is when I got home. It was nice to see my whole family, but the greatest part is I was able to walk again and even run sometimes! I feel so much better compared to my fourth surgery! I am back in school. Today I made it all day!! 

Some of my goals for this summer are running lots, play baseball and soccer, ride lots of horses, and play with every animal I can get my hands on. 

My saying for the day is: Sometimes life can be really tough, but in order to get to the easy parts, you have to go through the bad parts. And it's worth it!

I have to have surgery again??? But I'm little!!

Sorry!!!!!!!

I have been very busy for a while and couldn't write much!!!  ;)

I have been caught up in all of this medical stuff! Just a couple days ago I found out that I was going to get another surgery-very soon--to fix my dumb tethered cord!! Mostly because I cannot walk any more:(  I am back to the wheelchair. I can't believe that this is my 5th surgery!!!

But enough of dumb medical stuff. Some cool things I got to do is see the new Cinderella movie. I thought it was really cute and funny and encouraging. I also started playing the Cello. I love it so much and think it is the prettiest instrument I've ever seen! I also went to Boston and loved how the big shiny buildings reflected off of each other.

Most of all I got to watch all of the Harry Potter's in a row again. If I had to choose between Clark Kent and Harry Potter, I would choose Harry Potter (I can't believe I just said that!). Harry Potter just has a more interesting life. And he has a scar like me, but in a different place.

The saying for the day is: If you don't like Harry Potter, then you clearly have problems. Seriously. You may want to see a doctor.

My Big Brother, the Ninja-Beater-Upper

Grant is my older brother. He is 13 years old. He wants to be a...well, he said a janitor so....???

Anyway his favorite sports are football, soccer, poker (??) and I guess gambeling? I think he was kidding. His favorite animal is a snake. His favorite vehicle is a dirt-bike, which our parents said he could have if he gets straight A's so I guess he is never getting one.

I think Grant is very funny, like sometimes he sings Katy Perry songs in the shower! He is a great short, big brother who would most likely beat up a black belt ninja to save me from ... well, something.

My saying for the day is: sometimes older brothers can be annoying, but just love them anyway.

Lady Liberty's Nose

I really like the school I go to because the people there are really nice. Like my last year's teacher was really awesome because she let us have tons of free time, but that doesn't mean I'm a dummy for it. She taught me about Lady Liberty and that her nose between her eyes is as long as a fifth grader. I wonder what I would do if I was on Lady Liberty's face?

This year I like school because I have smart and fun friends. Sometimes it's hard at recess, though, because I can't play on the toys like everyone else, but I like to watch the boys play kickball.

I love to learn about history and living things. I do not like to learn about math because 1 + 1 is two and so what???

My saying for the day is: If you don't like school, stay home and eat junk food.

My special friend Chip.

We have a chipmunk that has been living in our yard ever since we first moved here. I became friends with him when I was going down the stairs (when I was walking good), and he ran in front of me into a small hole in the rocks. I named him Chip.

I like Chip because he's very cute and fast. One time we were running up from our secret hideout, and I saw Chip running along the rocks. My sister tried to throw a ball at him, but he went underneath a big rock. He's smart.

I did a little research and found out that chipmunks hibernate in the winter and need tons and tons of food when they wake up. So I decided to build a small house over his hole in the ground with lots of food inside. They next day all the food was gone!!! I'm sure Chip took it. Do you like my house?

My saying for the day is: If you have a hole in your yard, don't stick your hand in it. Trust me. It's not always a chipmunk's home.

Happy Veterans Day, Veterans!

Both my great grandfathers were soldiers in world war two!!! I really like how so many people joined the war knowing that they might die. Because where would we be if they didn't fight? We might have a bomb stuck in our house right now. It's like if we didn't have an army, we wouldn't feel safe. Someone might come and take over America! The army is like a blanket keeping us warm.

I like how soldiers wear camo. I think it looks really cool. My favorite is the air force because I love planes. My whole life I've always wanted to fly!

I bet it's sometimes sad to be in the army. Because if you have a family you are away from them for a very long time. I mean, if something happened to you, then your family would be very heartbroken.

I'm so glad that there are people in our country who will fight to save it!  

My saying for the day is: If you think you are tough, fight an American soldier. You will lose.

I Rode a Horse!

A few days ago I got to ride horses. It was so fun!! There were two horses. One of their names was Ziggy and I got to ride her. We went with my friend ,Rayna. It was my third time riding a horse.  I got to go up a big hill and went trotting up it.  My helmet kept falling off my head! Then my mom got to ride. She wanted me to to take one or two photos and instead I took more than fifty!!!!! Then her phone died because I took too many photos!!!!!!!

My saying for the day is: If you hate horses,  spend 2 years, 30 days, and 21 hours with them, and then decide.

Zombies, Statues and George Washington

I was a zombie for the holiday last week. Halloween was fun. I liked it a lot it. They had pizza at the park. Then there were these scary men who looked like statues and when you went by them they would jump out at you. They looked totally like statues with masks. It was cool!

The best part of the day was seeing the horses there they were pulling a wagon full of people. THE HORSES WERE HUGE!!!!!!! The horses were so big that even George Washington would say it was breathtaking!

My saying for the day is: If you see a man standing still on Halloween, stay away.

Big books are better!

I love reading! It is one of my favorite things to do. Right now I am reading a book called Pegasus. It is the best book I have ever read. It is so cool. It has 37 chapters in it and is 6 inches wide and is about the Olympians and Greek gods. It is kind of gory, and I got it at my school library.

My saying for the the day is: If you like to read, read books that are two feet wide.

Do you have a hide out?

I have a hide out. Now its kind of a club that only my older sister Belle and her friend Alyssa and my friend Rayna go to. We made in the woods behind our house, very deep in the woods. We call it the secret sister fort.

We like to play a game where you act like you are poor and then you build a house in the woods and then can add to your mini home. Like we added a bathroom and a playground. And one day we will make a zip line. Any way it is a fun game for kids to play!!!!!!

My saying for the day is: If you're poor, go make a home in the woods and live there the rest of your life.

Don't grow a mustache!

Aaron is my dad. He is 38 and is a put-people-to-sleep-nurse. He has passed these REALLY REALLY hard tests. And one time he had a giant test to be done with school. Oh and he was growing a MUSTACHE at the time!!!! He said, "I'm going to keep the mustache on until I pass the test." He did not look good with it.  But he passed the test! I am very very glad.

My dad likes to drive crazy and when I say crazy, I mean CRAZY! It makes us laugh. His favorite football team is the Patriots. He has never missed a game. Dad yells and dances whenever they score! The first thing he ever drew was a football! Dad even tells people that if they like the Patriots, they can move into our house! He was even born on Super Bowl Sunday!

He also likes dirt bikes, crocodiles and cool cars.

My saying for the day is: If you have a dad that is crazy, just do what he says.

Why do birds do this?

So the other day, my mom was sitting in our living room and then she heard two thumps! So we went out side to make sure everything was all right and then she saw two birds laying on the ground below our window. One of them had his eyes shut and was not breathing, and the other bird was laying on the ground and was hardly breathing with his his eyes wide open and was panicking.

Any way the next say we went outside to look, and the bird that was panicking was gone. The other bird was dead. And it is still laying there. I feel so bad to leave it there, but we are going to bury it soon.

A big thing that makes me happy

I love to draw! I LOVE to draw because its the only thing I can really do, besides swimming. So, I like drawing animals, people, and the world. My favorite one would have to be animals.

Now, when I was able to walk my favorite thing was to do sports. My favorite sport would be football. My second one would be swimming, and my third would be baseball. Here are some pictures of my drawings.

Animals are so cool!!! My favorite animal is a horse. My second animal is a dolphin. And my third one is a lion. I love these animals because I can ride horses, swim with dolphins, and watch lions fight. Did you know that there is an animal called a Yeti Crab?

I wasn't afraid!!!

I love swimming. I have to do it because it's the only thing i can do to exercise. You know, because I'm in a wheel chair and all. So, my mom got me in swimming lessons, and I got to go on the diving board for the first time!

At first it was kind of scary because when I crawled up there, it looked higher then it looked from below. I can use crutches for a little bit so I used them on the board, and when I got up there, I accidentally dropped one of them in the water! And then I did a belly flop that hurt bad. But I went three more times.

My saying for the day is: If it's your first time on the diving board, go for it!
